Kennel Care was built by ATC Dynamic, a UK engineering business with a background in electronics and industrial monitoring systems. Over the years we've built our share of sensors and control systems for demanding, real-world environments — so when a reliable, professional-grade monitoring problem turned up close to home, it was a natural fit to take on.

Following an introduction and subsequent conversations with Darron at Beacon Barkers back in March 2026, we learned he had been looking for a solid solution to temperature monitoring with some kind of alert/warning system. As most of these solutions are based around domestic units, they don't offer the robust reliability of an industrial-based solution.

We started with a Raspberry Pi and Node-RED (the Hub) — this worked in principle, but we found several issues quite quickly. Darron has been extremely supportive and allowed us to develop the system in his kennels, Beacon Barkers. We have moved through three generations of sensor design, and the same in "Hubs" and software iterations.

The current system is cloud-based and has incorporated 60-day history which is downloadable, along with many other features.
