Kennel Care exists because of a conversation, a pivot, and a year of relentless, hands-on work to get it right.
Kennel Care is developed by ATC Dynamic, a UK engineering business rooted in industrial condition monitoring — the discipline of keeping critical equipment and environments reliably measured, alerted, and accountable. That background matters, because it shapes everything about how this product is built: to industrial standards of reliability, not consumer-grade shortcuts.
Before Kennel Care, I'd been running an Innovate UK-backed project with Dudley College, applying that same industrial monitoring expertise elsewhere. But a conversation with Darron at Beacon Barkers back in March 2026 changed direction entirely. He'd been searching for a genuinely reliable way to monitor temperature and humidity across his kennels, with proper alerting — and found that most of what was available was built around domestic-grade technology, not the kind of robust, dependable system a real working kennel actually needs.
That was the moment it made sense to pivot. I ended the Innovate UK project, went full-time, and set out to bring industrial-grade monitoring rigor into animal care — a sector that deserved far better than it was being offered.
From that first conversation, everything moved fast. Working solo, seven days a week, I designed, built, and coded every part of this system myself — starting with an early prototype and, with Darron's continued support, testing and refining it live in his kennels at Beacon Barkers.
The system has now been through three full generations of hardware and software, evolving from that first working prototype into today's cloud-based platform — complete with 60 days of downloadable history and fully automatic over-the-air sensor updates, so every device stays current without any effort from the people relying on it. All of this, from a standing start to a fully functional live platform, happened in under a year.
Kennel Care is live and running in full production at Beacon Barkers — 11 sensors, covering their entire site, operating continuously. It's real data, generated daily, from a real working kennel.
Every sensor is individually tested against a documented build and quality process before it's dispatched, backed by a formal risk assessment and full compliance documentation held on file — the rigor you'd expect from an industrial background, applied properly to animal welfare monitoring.
